Bergamot (citrus aurantium bergamia) fruit

A well known and much loved scent especially among men. The essential oil is obtained from cold pressing the rind of the fruit. Bergamot is a tropical plant but thrives in Europe as well. Its essential oil is often used to kill germs, bacteria and other harmful microbes, even intestinal. It also relieves stress and anxiety, relaxes nerves and muscles and treats depression. Its wonderfully refreshing aroma makes it a popular ingredient in deodorants and perfumes. One of the most common applications of bergamot essential oil is in black tea. Add a drop of bergamot essential oil into a pot of regular black tea and what do you get? Earl Grey tea!
