Cinnamon (cinnamomum zeylanicum) bark
This famous spice is derived from the bark of the cinnamon plant. Its essential oil is surprisingly sweet and woody, unlike that obtained from the leaves. The essential oil can be obtained from steam distillation, CO₂ extraction or solvent extraction (absolute).
