Cinnamon leaf

Cinnamon (cinnamomum verum) leaf

Cinnamon leaf, unlike the bark, imparts a densely pungent and heady camphoraceous odour which should be used sparingly and with caution. Its oil is obtained from steam distillation.

  1. Scent impression – An overbearing and intensely heady, harsh, dry, fiery, spicy, incense-like aroma with a bitter-sweet, slightly fruity top note and a warm, harsh, smoky, sweet, balsamic, herbaceous, camphoraceous, woody undertone. This is a tenacious scent that reminds me of a cross between the thick smoke of burning incense in Indian/Chinese temples and cigarettes in a crowded Airport Smoking Room.
