Alaskan Cypress (chamaecyparis nootkatensis) needle

Alaskan Cypress, chamaecyparis nootkatensis, also known as Yellow Cedarwood or Nootka Tree, is not a true cypress. Other species that are referred to a cypress but are not true cypresses include Port Orford Cedarwood, chamaecyparis lawsoniana, the Nootka Round Cypress or Alaskan Cedar, chamaecyparis nootkatesis, and Bald Cypress, taxodium distichum. This conifer is native to the British Columbia and Alaska and is known to be ten times stronger than Virginian Cedarwood, juniperus virginiana.
