can there be a panacea?

My beloved is a pharmacist. So, it's not surprising that he's cynical about essential oils. Not that he doesn't believe they work, he grew up on Tiger Balm (for myalgia) and Axe Oil (for headaches) after all. It seems preposterous to him that a single essence can be used to treat a myriad of conditions from fever to dyspepsia to scabies to malaria to arthritis ... and even Alzheimer's disease! I have learned that each single essence has its unique set of healing properties. However, the efficacy of an essential oil can be further enhanced when it is combined synergistically with another. What to combine, for what purpose and how to combine them lies the Science and Art of aromatherapy. Due to their potency – some of them are, in fact, toxic and lethal – never try using an essential oil without first finding out its properties and proper dosage which, thankfully, can be found on the Internet.

To test the concept of multiple usage of essential oils, I made a simple blend of Lavender & Tea Tree essential oils and named it HAA! (Heals-Almost-Anything). So, whether he has a minor cut, inflammation from scalding, or ann acne to remove, I would apply HAA! topically and let it work its wonders. It didn't take long for him to be convinced. In fact, HAA! can be used for the following:

Although both lavender and tea tree essential oils are considered safe to be applied 'neat' on the skin, it is nevertheless not recommended. Always perform a patch test and use a diluent such as jojoba oil or aloe vera gel, even distilled water, before applying essential oils to the skin due to issues of allergies, skin irritation and sensitisation.
