my bff & his wife

I can’t say exactly that my BFF and I go a long way back. Then again, when it comes to relationships, quality overrules everything else. Don't you agree? I can tell you this, though: whenever we train as a duo at the gym, somehow everyone will be awestruck. The best part is, after training, we would have a kings’ banquet of meat and beer to the shock and horror of fellow gym goers. Ahhh, those were the days...
My BFF made me his confidant and manager of his love affairs, perhaps because I'm a decade older than he is – in his bachelor years when he switched from girlfriend to girlfriend (one of whom I actually had to lend my shoulders for her to cry on), to the day I was appointed the person-in-charge making sure everything was perfect when he sprung a surprise proposal to his fiancée and, ultimately, becoming the ring-bearer on his wedding day (I’d played an impish prank on the couple by switching the bands to something Metallica would accessorise themselves with). While he was the first I had come out of the closet to among my group of straight buddies and also the first I turn to whenever things didn’t go well in my relationships. Come to think of it, to think that two guys, one straight as an arrow while the other gay as a picnic basket, could share a bond so tight it would be hard for anyone not to be suspicious of some kind of undercurrent bromance going on between us, not that either of us gives a shit.
The day I first met his wife-to-be, I was stunned by the beauty in an emerald green dress. The moment she spoke, I instantly took a liking to her and thought to myself, "This is it. This is the girl he's gonna marry." We both got on famously and, later, for some reason that escapes me, she loves calling me "Lovely Peter". I never knew that one day I would have an adjective for a prefix to my name. Took some time to get used to but I kinda like it in the end. One thing I know for sure is, whenever she sees me, she would smile her warm dimpled smile and my heart would melt. How not to?
So, to kick start the new year, I dedicate the first AromaPersonalities to Kyo & Sharon, the loveliest couple I have ever had the honour to know, and love, and I wish them many more years of joy and bliss as husband and wife, mother and father (they recently had a beautiful baby daughter).
Oh, I can’t wait to meet her!
