a[rose] among thorns

I first met EL over a dinner gathering among friends and friends of friends. I've forgotten where or when that was but I remember wondering to myself, "Who's this vivacious woman...?" She was quite the rose among thorns [sorry fellas] that evening. It wasn't until quite some time later that I gradually got to know EL. As our friendship grew, so did my admiration for this petite lady.
A single mother of two, EL never ceases to amaze me with her abundant energy, splitting her time between work, her kids and, of course, her friends. And, oh, she parties hard, that woman. I remember asking her why she enjoys hanging out with gay men so much. She replied with a laugh, "Why, they're fun, they have good taste, and they're all so hot! You, on the other hand, should join us more often!"  Can you imagine she's actually a mother? And quite a good one, she is.
Eventually, I spent two years as her daughter's private tutor. During that time, we often talked about her daughter and parenting issues. I was surprised to find her taking my views seriously despite the fact that I, a single gay man, have limited understanding of parenthood. One cannot but feel respectful towards that level of humility.
On her birthday this year, I made for her my very first aromatherapy facial care product. So,

EL, if you’re reading this, you’re an awesome mother and a wonderful friend & I want you to know that you’re the inspiration behind AromaPersonality.
