With that, I had the shocking epiphany that my social circle is filled with Scorpios – sixteen of them no less. I even dated one several years back and I can vouch as a Cancerian that what the books say about the Cancer-Scorpio alliance is absolutely true. Perhaps I should round them up for a little social experiment someday... But I digress.
One evening, I received on Watsapp news about Ethan flying in for a social visit over the weekend and I was invited to have brunch with him and some other friends late Sunday morning. So, I texted Ethan asking what are some of his favourite scents and, to my horror, he replied, “Woody and musky scents.” – for me, those are the two most challenging types of fragrances to create.
So, biting down my lips, I typed, “Great! C ya tmr! <(^.^ )>”

I spent the entire night working on it. At dawn, after three miserable failures and way too much caffeine, I had managed only an iota of success. Dissatisfied, decaffed and seriously running out of time, I knew I had to try a different approach. From my previous failed attempts, I learned that I didn’t have the luxury of time to experiment with adding single essences to achieve my goal. So, I decided to blend using what I had created, all four variations, and two other chypre accords that I had made some months before.
Fortunately, it turned out to be the right decision. In the end, I think I managed 70% success. Suffice to say I was dead beat but supercharged from the new knowledge acquired.
A few days later, Ethan and I chatted online. He told me he loved it even though it wasn’t quite what he had expected, “But, you know. That’s why it’s so awesome precisely because it was unexpected and it was done by you! No one has ever done this for me before so I really appreciate it, thank you!”
And no one has ever shown me empathy and trust the way you did two years ago, Ethan. So,
